Hi all,
This has been happening for ages, so I thought I'd ask you guys if you've ever had this happen to you and if so, how on earth did you make it go away? Every time I use firefox with the zone, I get "the quick time plugin has crashed" each time a sound plays. It just randomly began doing this one day over a year ago and never has gotten any better. My plugins are all up-to-date so I'm at a loss. Ideas?
If I'm correct, this has happened after the Firefox three series. Unfortunately the only solution that I can come around to finding that actually works, is to go find an older version of Firefox, and use it. Or just use IE. it doesn't matter if you have updated your quick time or anything, the problem will still occur. Try looking for Firefox version 3.5 if possible, it may say that you're not protected, but if it's the only version of Firefox that works for this site, you may as well use it.
Thanks so much. I don't think it's a big enough deal to downgrade, though.
no problem
You can disable the Quicktime plugin, this should stop the problem you're having. I think, but don't quote me, that the latest version of Firefox has audio playing capability built in now, which eliminates the need for third-party plugins.
Disable it. It doesn't work and hasn't for a while. Even the folks at Firefox say so.
Hi.
I think the zone should play its sounds through flash or html5 but i don't think this will ever happen.
The only disadvantage with flash i can think off is the fact that we won't be able to stop audio profiles playing by pressing escape but we could have html alternatives for this.
